BLUFFTON – Alexa Walter and Weston Ott won both throwing events at Saturday’s Bluffton Throwers Showcase. Both throwers finished as state runner-up at last year’s state track meet. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Walter won the discus by a whopping 13 feet over her closest competitor, smashing her previous PR with a throw of 134-07. That mark is astonishing considering Walter’s PR was just 107 feet last year when she won the sectional. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

She’s now within touching distance of Maya Gerber’s mark of 139-03 from the 2024 sectional. Needless to say, it seems likely that Heritage will win the sectional discus title for a third year running. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lenai Riddle and Riley Roy also finished in the Top 10 in the event. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the shot put, Walter was just 17 inches short of her school record, but 15.5 inches longer than her protege, Lenai Riddle, who was second with a new PR, going nine inches longer than her distance at the ACAC meet last week. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Adams Central also had some top performances. Melanie Eicher exceeded her season best and last year’s career mark with a throw of 95-02 to finish just behind Heritage’s Riley Roy in tenth place. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
