Barbara L. Carver, 81, of Monroe, Indiana, passed away on Friday, May 15, 2026, at her residence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She was born on July 27, 1944, in Decatur, Indiana to the late F. Clair and Marjorie (Graham) Carver.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She was a member of Salem Community Church in Monroe, Indiana, and the National Education Association.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Barbara was a 1962 graduate of Adams Central High School in Monroe. She received a bachelor\u2019s degree in elementary education from Taylor University and her master\u2019s degree from Indiana University Bloomington. She retired from teaching at Fort Wayne Community Schools in 2002 with 35 years of service.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Barbara loved working outside taking care of flowers and mowing. She had a love for animals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Survivors include her brother, David C. (Lois) Carver of Indianapolis, Indiana; nephew, Joshua Carver of Indianapolis, Indiana; niece, Cara (E.J.) Olson of Indianapolis, Indiana; great-niece, Lila Olson; and two great-nephews, Luke Olson and Caleb Carver.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Barbara was preceded in death by her sister, Carolyn Carver.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 22, 2026, at the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home in Decatur, Indiana, with Pastor James Compton officiating. Burial will follow at Tricker Cemetery in Monroe, Indiana.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Family and friends will be received one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Friday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Preferred memorials may be given to Salem Community Church or ACCF \u2013 Cancer Fund.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
