There’s really no story worth writing. The stats say it all. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Seven innings pitched. No hits. Twenty strikeouts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That’s the performance that re-wrote the record books for Jay County starter Carley Trinidad Thursday night at Heritage as Jay County pulled off the softball-baseball double over their fellow patriots with a 5-0 win. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

With a win over South Adams on Monday, the ladies will match the boys with an outright and undefeated conference title. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trinidad was simply unhittable Thursday. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

After the first two batters of the game reached base, Hallie Schwieterman put the visitors up 3-0 and they never looked back. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Heritage leadoff hitter Hadlee Shipp lined out to short on a 3-1 pitch to start the bottom of the first. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Patriots never put the ball in play again. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trinidad got the remaining 20 outs in the game to see out one of the most remarkable performances in conference history. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

She worked around four walks, but it was as dominating of a performance as the ACAC has seen in some time. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The no-hitter also spoiled a fairly good night by Adi Bacon, who did not allow another earned run after Schwieterman’s home run. In fact, after the home run, she allowed just three hits and walked just one over the seven innings. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Schwieterman had one more single to her credit and Ruble had two more singles from her leadoff spot. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Heritage will have a chance at second place still in the ACAC if they can pull off an upset at Woodlan Tuesday and have other results go their way. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
