Izzy Isch cracked a solo home run in the bottom of the fifth inning that cleared the pine trees in left field to draw Bellmont within a 4-3 deficit, but the Norwell Knights scored the final five runs unanswered to take the biggest regular season game on both teams’ calendars, 9-3 on Wednesday night on WZBD.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kayla Watkins struck out seven for Norwell and earned the victory. The only earned run allowed came on Isch’s dinger. She also had a hit at the plate. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Adi Radecki held the Knights off as long as she could, striking out five, but the Knights pounded out ten hits for the win. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Braves actually outhit their opponents, but the Knights got theirs when it counted, capitalizing on five errors around the infield for the home team.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Isch finished the night 3-for-4 with two RBI. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Oni Krueckeberg had a double and single, while Taylor Sutter and Carissa Mickley also had two hits apiece.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Isabelle Buuck got the final out, striking out the only batter she faced. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bellmont is now 3-7 on the season with a showdown against South Adams looming Friday. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
