{"id":35672,"date":"2026-04-13T14:42:17","date_gmt":"2026-04-13T18:42:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wzbd.com\/?p=35672"},"modified":"2026-04-13T14:42:18","modified_gmt":"2026-04-13T18:42:18","slug":"werling-friends-visit-woodcrest-fundraiser-set","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wzbd.com\/index.php\/2026\/04\/13\/werling-friends-visit-woodcrest-fundraiser-set\/","title":{"rendered":"Werling &#8216;friends&#8217; visit Woodcrest; fundraiser set"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>By BOB SHRALUKA<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>WZBD.com<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Werling Wildlife Rehabilitation &amp; Education Center recently brought some of its friends for a visit with Independent Living residents at Woodcrest Retirement Center in Decatur.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Among the visitors were Katharsis, a turkey vulture; Shawnee, a red-tailed hawk; and Pickle, an opossum.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cOur Independent Living residents had a wonderful time learning about some of the animals we often think of as &#8216;pests&#8217; during a special visit&#8230;,\u201d noted a Woodcrest post on Facebook.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThank you for sharing your knowledge \u2013 and your amazing animals \u2013 with our community.
