Jax Wanner did it all – and got a little help from Derek Weaver – to beat the Winchester Falcons at Harry Anderson Field Wednesday, 6-4. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wanner struck out seven over 6+ innings and allowed Derek McKean to get thee final two outs and the save for a satisfying non-conference win. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The only real trouble Wanner found came in the very beginning moments of the game. Winchester pounced on four separate errors by the Starfire infield and pushed across three runs on just three singles. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

After that, Wanner settled into the game and was outstanding at times. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sty Pyle put the home team on the board in the bottom of the first, stealing a base and then scoring on a bunt. He scored again in the third to make it 3-2. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Derek Weaver gave South Adams the lead in the fifth with a two-run single to left and Wanner made it 6-3, knocking in Waver and McKean. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Stars had just five hits, but ran the bases well. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wanner overcame six walks to pick up the win. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
