Let the dunking begin"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>By BOB SHRALUKA<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>WZBD.com<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"140\" height=\"150\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/98.158.76.108\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/DecaturPolice.jpg?resize=140%2C150\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3497\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIf you think dunking a donut is fun, wait until you get to dunk a cop!\u201d the Decatur Police Department says in a Facebook post.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"174\" height=\"231\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/98.158.76.108\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/DecaturFire.jpg?resize=174%2C231\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3498\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Or, maybe you would rather put a firefighter \u201cin the drink.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Well, at Downtown Decatur Day this Saturday, you can take your pick.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Fire Chief Jeff Sheets and Police Chief Kevin Gerber, along with their various department members, are going to go \u201cbadge to badge in a friendly fundraising competition,\u201d the post says.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>They are going to set up a dunk tank in front of City Hall around 9 a.m. (the start of the event) to see which department can raise the most money. It will cost $1 a throw or $5 for six.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>All proceeds will be turned over to the United Way of Adams County.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe rules of engagement are simple,\u201d the departments say. \u201cYou will choose if you want to dunk a policeman or firefighter when you pay.
