{"id":33787,"date":"2026-02-16T12:23:29","date_gmt":"2026-02-16T17:23:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wzbd.com\/?p=33787"},"modified":"2026-02-16T12:23:31","modified_gmt":"2026-02-16T17:23:31","slug":"dugan-museum-events-said-well-attended","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wzbd.com\/index.php\/2026\/02\/16\/dugan-museum-events-said-well-attended\/","title":{"rendered":"Dugan Museum events said well-attended"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>By BOB SHRALUKA<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>WZBD.com<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A solid response to its Christmas-season events and a new roof for its \u201cannex\u201d at the Dugan Mansion\/Museum has been announced by the Adams County Historical Society.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cAll the Christmas events were well attended and met their goals,\u201d the historical society said in a website statement. \u201cThank you for an amazing Christmas season.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"640\" height=\"583\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/wzbd.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/Dugan-mansion-sign.jpg?resize=640%2C583&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-33788\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/wzbd.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/Dugan-mansion-sign.jpg?w=1000&amp;ssl=1 1000w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/wzbd.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/Dugan-mansion-sign.jpg?resize=300%2C273&amp;ssl=1 300w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/wzbd.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/Dugan-mansion-sign.jpg?resize=768%2C700&amp;ssl=1 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Events included pictures with Santa, the cookie sale and the Christmas Home Tours.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The historical society and the Berne Chamber of Commerce teamed up to stage the home tours, involving eight stops in Decatur, Berne and Geneva held over a two-day period.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Society officials revealed that a total of 225 people took part in the tours.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>COVERUP: Meanwhile, the society revealed that a new shingled roof has been placed on its \u201cannex,\u201d a building on the mansion museum grounds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The organization&#8217;s climate-controlled office is situated in the building commonly known as the \u201cannex,\u201d along with some fragile artifacts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The building has been in need of a new roof for some time, but had to take back seat to the roof project completed last year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe are happy to announce that with our December event fundraising, we were able to quickly get this roof shingled in January with very few hurdles,\u201d the society said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Arnold Lumber of Decatur handled the project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>PARTNERING: The historical organization also announced that it is partnering with the two other museum historical sites in Adams County: the Swiss Heritage Village &amp;
