As operations manager, Gilbert oversaw several departments, including parks and recreation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"640\" height=\"542\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/wzbd.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/Parks-rec-sign.jpg?resize=640%2C542&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-32709\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/wzbd.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/Parks-rec-sign.jpg?w=904&amp;ssl=1 904w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/wzbd.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/Parks-rec-sign.jpg?resize=300%2C254&amp;ssl=1 300w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/wzbd.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/Parks-rec-sign.jpg?resize=768%2C650&amp;ssl=1 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Matt Schultz, Gilbert&#8217;s assistant for a number of years, replaced him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But the mayor said he wanted to divide some of the duties Gilbert had.
