{"id":31568,"date":"2025-12-19T10:41:56","date_gmt":"2025-12-19T15:41:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wzbd.com\/?p=31568"},"modified":"2025-12-20T10:56:20","modified_gmt":"2025-12-20T15:56:20","slug":"jets-pressure-too-much-for-stars-to-overcome","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wzbd.com\/index.php\/2025\/12\/19\/jets-pressure-too-much-for-stars-to-overcome\/","title":{"rendered":"Jets&#8217; pressure too much for Stars to overcome"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Two teams struggling to get above .500 and gain a foothold in a very tough and competitive ACAC met on Thursday night with plenty on the line. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Oh, and it was Adams Central versus South Adams, as if the two teams didn&#8217;t already have enough on the line. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Adams Central led the contest throughout, and despite a comeback attempt by the Stars, it was ultimately the Jets who took home the victory, winning 52-41. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Kate Fisher had an outstanding game for the winners, knocking down four threes to lead the team with 21 points. She nailed three of those long-range shots in the third quarter to keep the Jets in the lead.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;Defensively we did not communicate well tonight,&#8221; noted SA head coach Brett Freeman after the contest. &#8220;We did not key in on their key scorers.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter size-full\"><a href=\"https:\/\/heartlandauctionrealty.com\/\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"640\" height=\"201\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/wzbd.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/Heartland-Auction-Realty-1.png?resize=640%2C201&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-30980\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/wzbd.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/Heartland-Auction-Realty-1.png?w=770&amp;ssl=1 770w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/wzbd.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/Heartland-Auction-Realty-1.png?resize=300%2C94&amp;ssl=1 300w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/wzbd.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/Heartland-Auction-Realty-1.png?resize=768%2C241&amp;ssl=1 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Freeman was, of course, talking about Fisher and Ava Stafford, who added 16 in the win. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Stafford had ten points as the Jets put things away in the fourth, doubling up the Stars in the final stanza, 14-7. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;We really struggled to take care of the ball again tonight,&#8221; said Freeman. &#8220;Some of it was decision making and some of it was just being very timid with the ball.
