{"id":31532,"date":"2025-12-18T12:00:50","date_gmt":"2025-12-18T17:00:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wzbd.com\/?p=31532"},"modified":"2025-12-19T09:16:32","modified_gmt":"2025-12-19T14:16:32","slug":"decatur-connected-supportive-braun-says","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wzbd.com\/index.php\/2025\/12\/18\/decatur-connected-supportive-braun-says\/","title":{"rendered":"Decatur &#8216;connected, supportive,&#8217; Braun says"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>By BOB SHRALUKA<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>WZBD.com<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWhat I enjoy most about Decatur is how connected and supportive the community is,\u201d says Taylor Braun, the new director of Decatur Main Street, a volunteer organization.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m grateful for the opportunity to give back to the place that shaped me and look forward to helping Decatur continue to grow as a great place to live, work, and visit.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Braun is the first salaried member of Decatur Main Street, a position needed to enable it to gain a higher status in the state organization and then seek grant funds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image alignleft size-large is-resized\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"640\" height=\"826\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/wzbd.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/Taylor-Braun-2.jpg?resize=640%2C826&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-31533\" style=\"width:198px;height:auto\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/wzbd.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/Taylor-Braun-2.jpg?resize=793%2C1024&amp;ssl=1 793w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/wzbd.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/Taylor-Braun-2.jpg?resize=232%2C300&amp;ssl=1 232w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/wzbd.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/Taylor-Braun-2.jpg?resize=768%2C991&amp;ssl=1 768w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/wzbd.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/Taylor-Braun-2.jpg?w=825&amp;ssl=1 825w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\"><em>Braun<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Braun \u2013 who is not to be confused with the young woman of the same name who formerly was marketing director for the Adams County Economic Development Corp. \u2013 begins in her new position on January 7.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m excited to work alongside local businesses, volunteers, and community leaders to support downtown growth, promote events, and help to continue to create a welcoming and vibrant downtown experience,\u201d Braun said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She recently graduated from Purdue University Fort Wayne, where she studied marketing and gained experience in community outreach, event planning, and strategic communication through coursework and local internships.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The new Main Street director says she is \u201cpassionate about supporting small businesses and finding creative ways to bring people together.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Braun grew up in the Decatur area, the daughter of Jason and Julie Braun.
