(Photo by Dane Fuelling)<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>In a measure of just how difficult the going was for the Starfires, they do not have a wrestler on the team with an unblemished record after the first eight duals of the season. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Brock Sprunger&#8217;s pin at 113 capped off the Stars&#8217; win over Bluffton in the opening round and Wes Summersett dominated #8 state-ranked Jax Litchfield in the Heritage match. (Photo by Dane Fuelling)<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The starting weight in the match with Adams Central did the Starfires no favors and they found themselves trailing 24-5 after the heart of the Jet order ran through them to start the dual meet. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Despite the big win for Summersett earlier in the morning, he could only muster a 9-3 decision against Max Nussbaum and the Jets got the strategy right when South Adams tried to move Cooper Affolder up to 285. Ryan Beer dropped to 215 and senior Ethan Funk chased Affolder and teched him with 20 seconds to go. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Starfires won matches at 113, 120 and 126, but in the final bout, Dakota Sprunger was beaten 3-0 by Kale Beer for his first loss of the year. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Southern Wells hit the Stars just right in the matchups and managed to steal 28 points from South Adams before coach Miller&#8217;s team got a break and faced Woodlan, winning easily, 71-5. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>South Adams then approached the final round with an opportunity to claim second place outright if they could beat Jay County.
