On the drums for The Pinkeyes is Addi Johnson, while Lucy Lichtle plays bass and vocals were provided by Vivian Garcia-Mendez.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>By BOB SHRALUKA<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>WZBD.com<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ideal weather helped bring out a huge crowd for Thursday night&#8217;s opening of the Decatur Chamber&#8217;s 2023 Summer Concert Series on the Madison St. Plaza.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Temperatures hovered in the high 80s and humidity in only the 20s as the popular Hubie Ashcraft band performed for nearly three hours.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During Ashcraft&#8217;s only break, Lola Sparks and the Pinkeyes, three Bellmont High School students \u2013 Vivian Garcia-Mendez, Lucy Lichtle and Addi Johnson \u2013 took the stage and rocked out, beginning with \u201cCrazy Train\u201d, to the delight of the crowd.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Chamber and city have invited youth bands and\/or singers to perform during intermissions at this year&#8217;s concerts.
