A couple of losses in recent years to the Snider Panthers will have the Bellmont Braves hungry to put things right in the historic rivalry between the two wrestling powerhouses in the area Tuesday night. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The match will be wrestled at Snider again this season, twelve months after the Panthers handed Bellmont a 39-35 loss. The Panthers also beat Bellmont in 2022, breaking a 32-year drought. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This year’s dual meet between the two schools will certainly be an interesting one, with many new names in the Snider lineup and just six varsity wrestlers returning from last year’s team that beat the Braves. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The two names to know for Braves fans are certainly 6-pounder Jayland Davis, who will provide the first test for Bellmont freshman Camron Barger. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Braves will give Deacon Rhodes a challenge at 132. Ranked #8 by IndianaMat in the semi-state, Rhodes will face a much-improved Luke Ruble. Rhodes was tech falled by Henry Faurote in last year’s dual. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Another familiar face in the Snider lineup is at 157, where Spencer Shively appears on the Panther sheet. Shively was involved in an excellent match with Austin Manley last season, pulling out a 10-8 decision. He will likely meet freshman Owen Shane, who stepped in for the injured Sam Wolpert and scored a victory by fall in the third period against Wawasee on Friday. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Braves will weigh in Tuesday night, then head back to the John Friedt Wrestling Room for non-school day practices Wednesday and Thursday before hopping on the bus Friday morning to head to Goshen, where they will wrestle ten duals in two days and look for another RedHawk title.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
