The ACAC cross country meet was held at South Adams Saturday and the Bellmont Braves were in action with a sectional preview meet hosted by Delta in the final weekend of the regular season in Indiana for cross country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Bellmont boys team finished in sixth of 15 teams, finishing ahead of Norwell, with career-best times by Hudson Krull and Joe Kozlowski. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hayden Whittenbarger led the Braves with an 11th-place finish. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

“For a guy who’s dealing with an injury,” said head coach Randy Hisner, “he ran well. He’s had to cross train a lot. It was a very gutsy performance and he was pretty much fearless out there.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

ACAC Notes: <\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Ethan Crockett was able to finish ahead of rival Dakota Sprunger with his second-best time of the year, finishing in 16:39 to be crowned individual ACAC Champion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Preston Hoffman and Trevor Chamberlain both broke the 20-minute mark for the first time in his career last week at the State Finals course, then went 14 seconds faster at the ACAC for a great run for the Jets. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Deacon Bierbaum may have had one of the best races of the day, making a significant cut to his career best to end up with a top-ten finish for the Starfires. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Daniel Rupp, Carson Laux and Maddox Miller also ran season bests for the Starfires. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Corban Roth went 17:16 for a PR for Heritage and took fourth place for first-team all-conference honors. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Alyssa Fruechte was one of the leaders for Adams Central with a season best and a top-25 finish. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Lexi Linder and Haley Jauregui also had season bests for the Jets. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Rosalinda Medina won first-team all-conference honors for the Patriots, while teammate Addie Bacon ran a season best for Heritage. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bellmont Notes: <\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Quinn Buchan ran her best time of the season to lead the Braves in the sectional tune-up. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Lilly Franz was just a second shy of her season best, but still ran her best race since early September. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Bridget Juengel and Haylee Franz also had season-best times for coach Carl Risch’s team. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Season bests for the boys came from Gavin Braun, Landon Rich, Sam Juengel and Owen Garcia. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
