Bellmont made the long trip west to take on Huntington North Tuesday night and fell by a score of 6-1. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cooper Wigmore scored in the first half, but the Bellmont back line kept the Braves in the contest. Parker Frietas shook off the early goal and a knocking of knees that nearly caused him to have to come off, keeping the team in the game on the road and heading to halftime with a 1-0 deficit. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The second half, however, was all Huntington North, with the Braves losing their talisman, Carsten Hudson, to an injury. The junior’s ability to win possession and get into the other team for a tackle or two were sorely missed in the second 40 minutes. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Freshman Liam Tinkle made it 3-0 with a tap-in in the 49th minute. He later scored a second for a brace against the Braves. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wigmore also had a brace after scoring in the 59th minute, beating Frietas to the far post after getting past the back line. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The lone highlight for the Braves was a great run down the left side by Taahir Ally, who has been promoted up from the JV in the last two weeks and rewarded with major playing time for the varsity team. Ally patiently beat a defender at the end line and sent a cross into the box that was met by Henry Faurote, who beat the HN goalie from close range, sending it into the back of the net to cut the score briefly to 3-1. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Vikings put three more past Bellmont after the Faurote goal. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
