Duane Lee “Curls” Schuller, 77, of Decatur, passed away Tuesday, August 19, 2025 at Adams Woodcrest of Decatur.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He was born in Decatur on September 14, 1947 to the late Frank and Helen (Ehlerding) Schuller.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Curls graduated from Monmouth High School in 1965.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Following high school, Curls answered his Nation’s Call and Honorably Served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Following his time in the service, Curls went on to work as a Truck Driver. He had also worked for Harvester and Navistar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He was a life member and 2nd Vice of VFW Post 6236 in Decatur; a life member of the DAV in Van Wert, Chapter 54; Decatur Eagles Arie 2653; Decatur Moose 1311; former member of the Decatur Legion Post #43; and Fort Wayne La Societe Des 40 Hommes Et 8 Chevaux Post 43.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Curls enjoyed watching movies and cooking. He will be fondly remembered for his famous Extra Large Pizza.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He is survived by his sons, Kevin F. Schuller and Jessie (Brandy) Schuller; grandson, Apollo; sister, Kathleen Hammond; companion, Jill Harris; and many nieces and nephews.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Also preceding him in death were a sister, Carol Gase; brothers-in-law; and several nieces and nephews.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Per Curls wishes cremation services will take place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Preferred memorials are to the donor\u2019s choice and can be made through Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home in Decatur.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
