For the third time in eight days, the Bluffton Tigers took care of the Bellmont Braves on a third different course, winning Monday night at Timber Ridge in Bluffton, 186-219. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The match marked the first weeknight head-to-head for coach Macke’s Bellmont team, who will look to regroup Wednesday night against Snider at Cross Creek. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

“We didn’t play as well as last week,” said Macke after the loss, “but it’s the first road trip after school started, so we struggled to find our rhythm.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Both No. 1s led their teams, with Emma Schwartz of Bluffton taking medalist honors by nine strokes with a 40. Bellmont senior Ella Hockemeyer was the only Brave to break 50 with a round of 49. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Morgan Huss had the individual highlight of the night for the Braves with a birdie on the 11th hole. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

“It was her last hole,” noted Macke. “And she chipped it right in. The girls stayed with it, though, and kept trying until the last shot.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Tigers’ advantage at Timber Ridge has only grown in recent years after the IHSAA moved the sectional several years ago to Fort Wayne and out of Bluffton. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
