Decatur police are reminding people that despite the large amount of work done recently on the Five Points roundabout, the work is far from complete and vehicles should not be driven onto the area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That includes golf carts and UTVs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe Decatur PD wants to take a moment and remind drivers that despite the appearance of this area being driveable, it is not!\u201d the department said in a Facebook post.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Many utilities remain exposed and if struck could cause delays and additional expense to the project, the department said. And, of course, a driver could also cause damage to his\/her vehicle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cDon\u2019t forget the potential fines or criminal charges that may also exist,\u201d the department added. \u201cSo, if you find that the gravitational force of this newborn roundabout is too great to escape, please admire it while on foot, and from afar.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Some asphalt has gone down at the intersection and some curbs have been poured.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The work is being done in sweltering heat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
