Milling of streets in preparation for paving as part of a large-scale project will begin in Decatur Tuesday, July 22nd.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

All the project’s sidewalk work has been completed, according to city Operations Manager Jeremy Gilbert.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Approximately two miles of new sidewalk has been added and next up will be the milling (removing the top layer) and paving of some two miles of streets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The milling is expected to take six days, following six days of paving by general contractor DC Construction of Pendleton.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The project is taking place in the northwest area of the city.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The tentative order released by DC Construction is as follows:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

N. Third St.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

N. Fourth St.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jackson St.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Marshall St.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

W. Marshall St.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Indiana St.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

N. Seventh St.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Short St.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jackson St.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is hoped that the entire project, now in its 16th week, can be wrapped up by the end of August.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
