{"id":27604,"date":"2025-07-16T08:47:19","date_gmt":"2025-07-16T12:47:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wzbd.com\/?p=27604"},"modified":"2025-07-16T08:47:21","modified_gmt":"2025-07-16T12:47:21","slug":"biofuels-industry-driving-demand-for-soybean-oil","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wzbd.com\/index.php\/2025\/07\/16\/biofuels-industry-driving-demand-for-soybean-oil\/","title":{"rendered":"Biofuels industry driving demand for soybean oil"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Kellan Heavican<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Brownfield Ag Network<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The CEO of the Kansas Soybean Association says demand for biofuels is helping increase soybean oil production.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Kaleb Little tells Brownfield says there\u2019s been significant growth for biodiesel and renewable diesel. \u201cThere are some state policies that really help support that, but really the RFS is the big key there and getting those proposed volumes at the increased level that we saw from EPA is just going to be huge support for those for those new fresh plants.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The proposed rule from EPA sets Renewable Volume Obligations at 5.62 billion gallons for biomass-based diesel fuel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Last week, the USDA raised its outlook for soybean oil use by biofuel producers in the 2025-26 marketing year<em>&nbsp;<\/em>to a record of 15.5 billion gallons. Little tells Brownfield, \u201cThe oil value is really driving the bus a lot more than it used to. It used to be that it was a drag. It\u2019s just protein meal, that\u2019s the key player there.
