He was only 43, and there will never be enough time to understand why he had to go.

Jesse was a gentle man—quiet by nature, but he spoke in the most powerful ways: through his loyalty, his kindness, and the way he showed up every single day for the people he loved. He didn’t need many words to let you know how deeply he cared. Being a husband and a father was his greatest joy and proudest role, and he poured his heart into it. He was Jill’s best friend, soulmate, and the love of her life. Living this life without him feels impossible, but we will carry his love with us always.

He found peace in the outdoors, especially while fishing at sunrise or at first ice in the winter time. He also enjoyed hunting and could be found heading into the woods during hunting season. He loved sharing those moments with others—whether teaching someone how to cast a line and then “set the hook!”. He was a fabulous cook, especially when it came to smoking meat on the grill. He turned food into comfort, and meals into memories.

Jesse was a die-hard fan of all things Wisconsin—whether it was the Packers, the Badgers, the Brewers, or the Bucks, he cheered them on like he was part of the team. Game days were sacred, and you always knew where to find him: shouting at the TV, wearing his lucky gear, and fully invested in every play. His football clap was one for the record books and often a joke between him and his wife that was only limited to game days since it was so loud it hurt her ears and scared the dog. He had the best belly laugh that was so contagious, you couldn’t help but laugh along with him, and his smile had a way of lighting up any room. He made life more fun, more vibrant, and filled it with a joy that was contagious.

To know Jesse was to love him. He was a devoted son, a loyal brother, a caring uncle, and a steady friend. He gave the best hugs, offered quiet strength when it was needed most, and made people feel safe just by being near. He didn’t seek attention—he simply showed up with love and left a lasting mark on every life he touched.

He is survived by wife, Jill Fromader of Decatur, Indiana; daughter, Madelyn Elizabeth Fromader, at home; son, Raymond James Fromader, at home; parents, LeRoy and Marlene Fromader of Columbia City, Indiana; sister, Sarah (Patrick) Curtis of Decatur, Indiana; maternal grandmother, Maryann Rademacher of Milton, Wisconsin; mother-in-law, Deb Rice of Decatur, Indiana; two sisters-in-law, Jennifer (John) Menze of Fort Wayne, Indiana and Jackie (Luis) Araujo of Monroe, Indiana; grandmother-in-law, Nancy Evans of Van Wert, Ohio; nieces & nephews, Ethan & Allyson Curtis; Max & Clara Menze; Aubree Johnson and Grayson & Oliver Araujo; a multitude of aunts, uncles and cousins; and many wonderful friends who he considered family.

Jesse was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Shawn Rice; maternal grandfather, James Rademacher; paternal grandparents, Raymond and Elizabeth Fromader; grandfathers-in-law, Duane Rice and Bill Evans, Sr.; and grandmother-in-law, Carol Rice.

A celebration of Jesse’s life will be held at 6 p.m. Saturday, July 12, 2025, at Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home in Decatur with Pastor Greg Rice officiating.
