A month-long workshop at the MERIT Center in Decatur will aim to uplift and empower small businesses in Adams County, according to an announcement by Patti Hogg, center coordinator.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Experts from the Northeast Indiana Innovation Center (NIIC), the MERIT Center and Adams County Economic Development will host the workshop starting on Wednesday, June 11.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Current and aspiring entrepreneurs can take their businesses and ideas to the next level through four sessions, according to the announcement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The workshop will be held on Wednesdays from June 11 to July 2, with sessions scheduled for 5:30-7:30 p.m.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The announcement said each session will focus on an area key to success: the basics, understanding consumers, business finances and putting the lessons into practice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While there is a $100 fee to participate, those who attend and complete the entire series will receive $50 back.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Interested individuals must register at (260) 216-5604 by June 4.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

FINDING FRAUD: Also at the MERIT Center, ProFed Credit Union will present a workshop on fraud and scams, how to detect them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This workshop is a great opportunity for anyone wanting to learn more about possible scams and how to avoid them, Hogg said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The free program on June 12 at 5:30 p.m. is open to the public and ProFed will be suppling light snacks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
