Adams County leaders have officially begun a vision planning process, named Advancing Adams County, which will guide growth and development in the county while complementing its unique character, according to an announcement by Adams County Economic Development (ACED) Director Colton Bickel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Advancing Adams County will provide a strategic framework to help county leaders guide decision making in areas of future public investments in multiple facets of the community including, parks and recreation, tourism, housing, infrastructure, social programming and schools, Bickel said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The process aims to balance future county growth with the preservation of local, cultural, and natural resources.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The steering committee, comprised of local elected officials, leaders, and community stakeholders, recently began meeting and is prioritizing community input and feedback, according to the announcement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the coming months, members of the steering committee and project team will be attending several community events and holding public open houses to gather feedback.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

OPEN HOUSE: On Thursday, May 29, the first public interactive open house will be conducted at the Farmers Market held at the 100 block of Madison Street in Decatur.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The purpose of the open house is to seek input from all generations of Adams County on multiple facets of community, including parks and recreation, economic development, tourism, housing, infrastructure, social programming, and schools, Bickel said.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
