The South Adams Starfires picked up their fourth and fifth victories of the season Saturday in a doubleheader sweep at Whitko. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Game One<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

South Adams put six spots on the board in both the sixth and the seventh inning to turn a 5-4 deficit into a blowout win in the opening game as Kyle Minger scored four times and Jax Wanner threw a complete game. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wanner struck out eight and allowed just four hits while walking four to earn the victory. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Minger reached base all four times with a double, a single and two walks at the bottom of the batting order. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Game Two<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kade Sprunger worked into the sixth inning and took advantage of a six-run Starfire rally in the second inning to lead the South Adams Starfires to a 9-8 victory Saturday at Whitko. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sprunger struck out two, but walked just one batter and allowed only five hits through 5.2 innings of work, earning the victory. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Starfires themselves had just three hits and their six-run rally came off just one hit. Jax Wanner hit a two-run single with two outs in the second to put the Stars up 6-0. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Derek Weaver doubled and scored for the Stars and Zeke Baumer drove in a run with a sacrifice fly in the third and scored after singling in that second inning. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jax Wanner got the save, pitching a hitless seventh inning for the Starfires, who are now 5-16.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
