Adams Central faced a deficit Thursday night on their home courts against Blackhawk Christian, but a pair of third-set victories gave the Jets what they needed for a 3-2 win in varsity tennis action. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

A quick win for Lila Ringger and Jillian Brotherton on the east end of the AC tennis complex was matched and bettered by wins from Avery Ellsworth and Ella Callahan of Blackhawk in the center courts. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

That left Tenley Hendricks at No. 3 singles and the senior duo of Macy McClure and Alexa Brotherton to find a third point. The Jets won the first set in both matches, but dropped the second, setting up the drama. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

McClure and Brotherton then won their third set against Josie Fritcha and Nora Faupel, 7-5, and Hendricks went to a tiebreak, winning 7-4. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Jets are back in action again Friday night when they travel to Wayne. Teams across the state are awaiting Monday’s sectional draw from the IHSAA, with sectional action slated to begin at Norwell on Tuesday. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
