South Adams put six on the board in the top of the first and never looked back, scoring a 15-5 win in just five innings over rival Adams Central Thursday. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Starfires forced Adams Central into mistakes and scored their 15 runs on just eight hits. Adams Central committed three errors and their chances at making it a game were plagued by seven walks issued by Jet pitchers and four hit batsmen. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Melina Peralez continued her hot hitting in the loss, stroking a home run off Addie Baker in third, singling in the fifth and hitting a double in the first. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Baker worked the first four innings in the circle for the Stars, striking out seven and walking three. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

South Adams gained ground in the ACAC standings with Heritage’s loss in Portland. They will play a doubleheader at Eastbrook Saturday, then round out the regular season with five non-conference games. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
