Bishop Luers and Bellmont met on the artificial turf of the WBA Wednesday evening and the two teams played a pretty even game with rain playing a role at several points, but it was a four-run rally in the bottom of the third that ultimately separated the two teams. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Layne LeMaster started for the Braves and retired six of the eight batters he faced, allowing just two hits and a run in the bottom of the first. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

For Luers, it was Austin West on the mound to begin the game. He held the Braves to just one run over five innings of work to earn the victory. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

That run was created on the base paths by Layne LeMaster, who drew a two out walk and then worked his way around the bases before forcing a bad throw from West to get Bellmont off the mark. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Aiden Zimmerman came into the game at pitcher for Bellmont in the third inning and went the rest of the way. He was charged with five runs. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
