For the second time in four days, the Bellmont Braves boarded the bus Monday with a solemn mood. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
After losing on a walk-off home run in the bottom of the ninth for an extra-innings loss to Mississinewa Friday, the Braves repeated the dubious feat Monday at Woodlan in a 7-5 loss, with Lexi Metzger breaking a 5-5 tie with two outs in the bottom of the seventh. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Emily Bleke gave the Braves an early lead with a homer to center on the second pitch of the game, reminding everyone who was present that the wind would play a vital role in the contest. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Bella Ashley pitched out of a jam in the bottom of the first and later knocked in two with a home run herself in the third to give Bellmont a 4-0 lead. Ashley struck out five and pitched the entire way for the visitors. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Finnley Godsey and Oni Krueckeberg each had doubles in the game. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
