Third St. (just south of Marshall St. in photo) Monday as part of the major project which began in Decatur last week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The work will see nearly two miles of streets being paved and produce more than two miles of new sidewalks over a period of three to four months.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"640\" height=\"385\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/wzbd.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/Sidewalk-work.jpg?resize=640%2C385&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-25469\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/wzbd.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/Sidewalk-work.jpg?resize=1024%2C616&amp;ssl=1 1024w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/wzbd.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/Sidewalk-work.jpg?resize=300%2C181&amp;ssl=1 300w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/wzbd.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/Sidewalk-work.jpg?resize=768%2C462&amp;ssl=1 768w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/wzbd.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/Sidewalk-work.jpg?w=1078&amp;ssl=1 1078w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The project is concentrated in an area in the vicinity of the city pool.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>DC Construction of Pendleton is the project contractor, having submitted a low bid of $1,499,410.72.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A grant of $1,456,125 was awarded Decatur via the Indiana Department of Transportation&#8217;s Community Crossing program.
