Bellmont fell to Huntington North by 30 points Thursday, having to do without freshman thrower Mary Bleke, who is out with a broken bone in her foot. In her place, classmate Alayna Baker showed just how talented the freshman class is for Bellmont this year, taking second and fourth place in the two throwing events. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Notes & Times: <\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Ashley Bleke was second in the 200 with a career-best time. Bleke was also second in the 400, knocking over two seconds off her previous best in that event. Her time of 1:05.06 is the fastest of any Adams County runner this year and the best time for a Bellmont runner in the past three years. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Quinn Buchan was just behind Bleke, setting her own personal best and finishing in third.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Two more freshmen, Kaitlyn Barton and Grace Ruble, scored points for the Braves in the 800 with their first attempts of their high school careers. Barton won the event and Ruble was third. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Barton cut 15 seconds from her mile time last week against AC and also won the 1600. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Ava Billman won the high jump for the Braves and Maya Schlemmer was second, setting a new personal best. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Chloe Post won the pole vault, clearing 6-06 and setting a new personal best. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Baker’s throw of 28-10.25 was good enough for second place. Only Mary Bleke has done better for the Braves this year. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
