The chemical has been banned in countries all over the world but retains a prominent place in American agricultural practices. <\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Christiansen says many options are on the table for the product\u2019s future, including a cease in production.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s one of the possibilities we\u2019ve had to look at for sure,\u201d she said. \u201cI think we\u2019ve had to look at a lot of possibilities that we never thought we would have to look at because of the situation we\u2019re in. I want to be clear that no decisions have been made yet though. Let\u2019s just be very clear about that.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If Bayer stops selling Roundup, Christiansen says farmers would likely have to turn to China for their glyphosate needs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe hope there\u2019s still availability of the product for our farmers, but I think it\u2019s an important component as you think about our national security.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She says Bayer will continue to stand up against litigation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThis is bigger than just Bayer and it\u2019s bigger than just glyphosate,\u201d Christiansen said. \u201cThis is really about protecting innovation and sound science for our farmers, and innovation across agriculture.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Earlier this month, Bayer filed a petition with the U.S. Supreme Court to dismiss cases against Roundup, citing conflicting rulings in recent cases.
