Heritage came out of Thursday’s home opener for the outdoor track season with a big win on the boys’ side, beating both Bishop Luers and Blackhawk Christian combined. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Notes & Times:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Lucas Weber ran a career best with a blistering time of 11.01 in the 100 to win the event. Teammate Nasir Martin also had a good time, taking third with a career best. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Weber also ran a career best in the 200 and finished second for the Patriots. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Corbin Roth had to settle for second in the 800 despite running a career-best time in the event. Roth did take first in the mile, however. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Geremew Gerber was second in the 110 hurdles with the first sub-17 time of his career. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Heritage finished a tenth behind Luers for first place in the 4×100 relay, but they still managed to clock a faster time than any attempt last season for the team. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Dominic Ferguson won the pole vault by equaling his best height from last season at 9 feet. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Charlie Riddle won the shot put easily and teammate Wyatt Garland set a new personal best with his throw of 42-05 to take fifth. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

-It took a monumental throw by Deontae Eskridge of Bishop Luers (146 feet would have been one inch short of last year’s sectional-winning distance) to beat Garland in the discus. Heritage’s Garland added 15 feet to his previous career best to take second. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
