Whittern, 91, of Markle, Indiana, passed away on Saturday, March 22, 2025 at Markle Health and Rehabilitation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She was born on October 27, 1933 in Decatur, Indiana to the late Daniel and Pauline (Schueler) Behrman.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image alignleft size-full is-resized\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"410\" height=\"512\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/wzbd.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/1215bcdb-4b6c-485f-8b4c-2d9cf61a4511.jpg?resize=410%2C512&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-24856\" style=\"width:186px;height:auto\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/wzbd.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/1215bcdb-4b6c-485f-8b4c-2d9cf61a4511.jpg?w=410&amp;ssl=1 410w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/wzbd.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/1215bcdb-4b6c-485f-8b4c-2d9cf61a4511.jpg?resize=240%2C300&amp;ssl=1 240w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 410px) 100vw, 410px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Deloris was united in marriage to Paul Whittern on June 26, 1954 at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Soest, and he preceded her in death on November 14, 2021.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Deloris was a long-time member of St. Marks Lutheran Church, ELCA, in Monroeville, Indiana.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After graduating from Hoagland High School, Deloris worked as a secretary at Lincoln Life in Fort Wayne.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Deloris loved baking, and sharing her goodies with family and friends. She also enjoyed working in her flower and vegetable gardens. She was a den mother for the Monroeville Cub Scouts in her early adult years. Deloris and Paul loved to Western Square dance together. She had a great time playing bid euchre with the family. In her last couple of years, she found joy in her special friendship with Harvey Guenin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Survivors include her son, David (Carleen) Whittern of Libertyville, Illinois; daughter, Jennifer Love of Monroeville, Indiana; daughter, Deborah Whittern of Markle, Indiana; special friend, Harvey Guenin of Markle, Indiana; sister, Sharon Behrman of Fort Wayne, Indiana; brother, Stan Behrman of Fort Wayne, Indiana; four grandchildren. Jerry Love III, John Love, Michael Whittern and Nicole Whittern; and seven great-grandchildren.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She was preceded in death by a son in infancy, Kenneth Whittern; a grandson in infancy, Matthew Whittern; and her sister, Elaine Wilson.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 28, 2025 at Zwick &amp; Jahn Funeral Home, Jacobs Chapel in Monroeville, Indiana, with Rev. Walter Rice officiating. Burial will follow in Monroeville Memorial Cemetery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Family and friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, March 27, 2025 at the Zwick &amp; Jahn Funeral Home, Jacobs Chapel in Monroeville, Indiana, and one hour prior to the service on Friday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Preferred memorials can be given to St. Marks Lutheran Church, in Monroeville.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Arrangements by Zwick &amp; Jahn Funeral Homes, Jacobs Chapel of Monroeville, Indiana.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To order&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/manage2.tukioswebsites.com\/o\/v2\/trees\/e614f338-5a75-4a65-931f-20a4e8497c59\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">memorial trees<\/a>&nbsp;in memory of Delores M.
