<\/figure>\n\n\n\nDeloris was united in marriage to Paul Whittern on June 26, 1954 at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Soest, and he preceded her in death on November 14, 2021.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Deloris was a long-time member of St. Marks Lutheran Church, ELCA, in Monroeville, Indiana.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
After graduating from Hoagland High School, Deloris worked as a secretary at Lincoln Life in Fort Wayne.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Deloris loved baking, and sharing her goodies with family and friends. She also enjoyed working in her flower and vegetable gardens. She was a den mother for the Monroeville Cub Scouts in her early adult years. Deloris and Paul loved to Western Square dance together. She had a great time playing bid euchre with the family. In her last couple of years, she found joy in her special friendship with Harvey Guenin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Survivors include her son, David (Carleen) Whittern of Libertyville, Illinois; daughter, Jennifer Love of Monroeville, Indiana; daughter, Deborah Whittern of Markle, Indiana; special friend, Harvey Guenin of Markle, Indiana; sister, Sharon Behrman of Fort Wayne, Indiana; brother, Stan Behrman of Fort Wayne, Indiana; four grandchildren. Jerry Love III, John Love, Michael Whittern and Nicole Whittern; and seven great-grandchildren.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
She was preceded in death by a son in infancy, Kenneth Whittern; a grandson in infancy, Matthew Whittern; and her sister, Elaine Wilson.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 28, 2025 at Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Jacobs Chapel in Monroeville, Indiana, with Rev. Walter Rice officiating. Burial will follow in Monroeville Memorial Cemetery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Family and friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, March 27, 2025 at the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Jacobs Chapel in Monroeville, Indiana, and one hour prior to the service on Friday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Preferred memorials can be given to St. Marks Lutheran Church, in Monroeville.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
