A large crowd attended at an Indianapolis Colts facility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Pike fire department has five stations with 166 professional firefighters and medics supporting a township of over 83,000 residents on the northwest side of Indianapolis. The department protects over 42 square miles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"640\" height=\"279\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/wzbd.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/Outlook-u133rt2i.jpg?resize=640%2C279&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-24665\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/wzbd.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/Outlook-u133rt2i.jpg?resize=1024%2C446&amp;ssl=1 1024w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/wzbd.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/Outlook-u133rt2i.jpg?resize=300%2C131&amp;ssl=1 300w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/wzbd.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/Outlook-u133rt2i.jpg?resize=768%2C334&amp;ssl=1 768w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/wzbd.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/Outlook-u133rt2i.jpg?w=1041&amp;ssl=1 1041w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Hakes has been with the department six years, hired in April of 2019 after being head of security at Von Maur in Indy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A 2012 graduate and a standout in sports at Bellmont, Hakes was a member of Sectional championship teams in football, baseball and wrestling.
