{"id":24245,"date":"2025-02-17T14:30:52","date_gmt":"2025-02-17T19:30:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wzbd.com\/?p=24245"},"modified":"2025-02-17T14:30:53","modified_gmt":"2025-02-17T19:30:53","slug":"faurote-building-has-new-look-work-continues","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wzbd.com\/index.php\/2025\/02\/17\/faurote-building-has-new-look-work-continues\/","title":{"rendered":"Faurote building has new look; work continues"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>By BOB SHRALUKA<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>WZBD.com<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The once-dilapidated Faurote building in downtown Decatur has a new look.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>New windows have been installed on both the first and second floors of the structure and a new front door is in place.<br>The front facade was reframed earlier.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Electrical, plumbing and HVAC (heating, ventilation, air conditioning) work is now being done in the building, according to Curt Witte, the city&#8217;s building\/zoning superintendent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"640\" height=\"508\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/wzbd.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/Outlook-fo43wu2i.jpg?resize=640%2C508&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-24246\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/wzbd.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/Outlook-fo43wu2i.jpg?w=731&amp;ssl=1 731w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/wzbd.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/Outlook-fo43wu2i.jpg?resize=300%2C238&amp;ssl=1 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Limberlost Construction of Geneva is doing the work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The city has signed a lease agreement with the Adams County Economic Development Corp., which, upon completion of the restoration, will take possession of the two-story structure and relocate its offices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The ACEDC will lease a small portion in the rear of the building to the city, which plans to use it for much-needed storage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The city obtained a state READI grant of $290,000 to use for renovation of the building and the ACEDC, through its own funds and some private donations, is picking up the tab for the rest of the cost.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By BOB SHRALUKA WZBD.com The once-dilapidated Faurote building in downtown Decatur has a new look.
