Eight lots in the new phase of the Cross Creek subdivision in Decatur are cruising toward approval to connect to the Adams County Regional Sewer District rather than the city’s sewage system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Engineer Kevin McDermit and Steve Kreigh of Ideal Builders discussed the matter with Decatur’s board of works and safety at its recent meeting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Of the 15 lots in the latest phase, only seven can be hooked up to the city’s system. The other eight will connected to the Adams County Regional Sewer District.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

McDermit said that although he wasn’t sure in the early stages how many lots would need to go outside the city, the number has now been determined to be eight.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The regional district hasn’t yet given its okay, but that seems \u201cfavorable,\u201d McDermitt said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The city’s approval for the sewer district tap-in is expected to be granted by city council at its February 18 meeting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The new Cross Creek phase involves 24.4 acres of land in the northwest portion of the subdivision.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

SECOND OKAY: The board also approved an Asset Management Plan presented by Ben Adams of Commonwealth Engineering.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Such plans are required by the state for water utility departments and, Adams noted, need to be finished by April 1.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
