Give Decatur City Attorney Anne Razo credit for \u201changing tough.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Razo was too ill to attend the February 4 meetings of city council and the board of works at City Hall. But she stood by on a phone hookup, answering all questions and providing legal advice \u2013 sometimes having to pause to cough \u2013 through the meetings which consumed nearly 90 minutes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It was a reminder of Razo’s first-ever meetings as city attorney in January of 2023 \u2026 which she had to miss due to illness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Also at the meetings:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

* Pothole season has arrived and filling them is underway, city Operations Manager Jeremy Gilbert told council.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To report a pothole, call 724-3356, Gilbert said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

* Absolutely no controlled burns are allowed within the city limits, Fire Chief Jeff Sheets said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

* This year’s Root Township fire contract was approved by the board of works. The contract had been approved earlier by the township’s board.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The township pays $25,124.48.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

* Karey Fuelling, superintendent of the wastewater treatment plant, was given the okay to put two vehicles up for auction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A 1991 Bobcat and a 1995 Ford dump truck \u201care no longer needed (having been replaced),\u201d Fuelling said. The vehicles will be part of a March auction by Krueckeberg Auction & Realty.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
