(Photo by Patrick Gunsett)<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Garrett won the dual meet and advanced to the finals with first-minute falls at 126 and 132, leaving Henry Faurote to wrestle for himself in the final bout. That bout was a terribly important one for Faurote, however, with Ryan Kochendorfer one of the very best 138s in the local semi-state. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With Garrett up 49-21, Faurote and Kochendorfer were hit with double stalling midway through a scoreless first period. Henry found his groove in the second, scoring a pair of takedowns and pinning Kochendorfer after building a 6-2 lead. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The loss put Bellmont up against New Prairie, who somehow gave up a 33-7 lead to Delta in the other semifinal. The Eagles won the final six bouts to upset the #2 seed. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"2025 IHSWCA 2A Team State - Live from Jay County\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/ig-E-9EXPlw?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Wrestling the Cougars for third place, the Braves got top-notch wins from Austin Manley at 157 and Xavior Palacios at 190 over high-quality opponents, while Gavin Davis moved up to 175 to score six points. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>New Prairie, however, had their hammers, with state-ranked Jayden Lewis, Matthew Staples and Devin Kendrex giving their team an 18-14 lead. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Grady Baker tied the dual meet at 18-18 after seven weights, but New Prairie won three of the next four bouts by major decision, with only Ben Mills scoring points for the Braves. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>That left Bellmont with a 30-24 lead with three bouts remaining. Gabe Myers scored a big fall in the first period at 132, but Henry Faurote and Will Franze were both defeated, leaving the Braves with their fourth-place finish. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>#4 Bellmont 68 #5 Mt.
