{"id":22692,"date":"2024-12-22T17:02:07","date_gmt":"2024-12-22T22:02:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wzbd.com\/?p=22692"},"modified":"2024-12-22T17:02:08","modified_gmt":"2024-12-22T22:02:08","slug":"appointments-fill-last-meeting-of-2024","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wzbd.com\/index.php\/2024\/12\/22\/appointments-fill-last-meeting-of-2024\/","title":{"rendered":"Appointments fill last meeting of 2024"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>By BOB SHRALUKA<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>WZBD.com<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Appointments, some year-end work with bureaucratic requirements, and plenty of \u201cMerry Christmas\u201d wishes marked Decatur City Council&#8217;s Dec. 17 meeting, the last one of 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>All the appointments were for terms which begin January 1.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Council named Craig Russert and Aaron Rhymer to the city&#8217;s redevelopment commission, while mayoral appointments tapped Ron Storey, John Summers and Jeremy Friedt for the same group.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"252\" height=\"144\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/wzbd.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/photoless-header-template-news.jpg?resize=252%2C144&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-320\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Rhymer is the only new appointment to the five-member redevelopment commission, replacing Jason Bird, who asked to step down.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Meanwhile, Shane Cauble and Kevin McIntire were given new terms with the Board of Zoning Appeals (BZA).
