Samantha J. Franz, 34, of Decatur, Indiana passed away Monday, December 16, 2024, at her residence, after an extended hard-fought battle with cancer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She was born on July 2, 1990, in Decatur, Indiana to Lynn and Patricia (Heimann) Franz. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sami was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Decatur.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She graduated from Adams Central High School in 2009. Sami then graduated from Ivy Tech Community College with an Associate\u2019s Degree as a Registered Nurse. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

She loved animals, being outdoors, traveling, winter camping, taking walks, and roller skating. Sami also enjoyed spending time with her nephew and nieces. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sami is survived by her parents, Lynn and Patricia Franz of Decatur, Indiana; brother, Michael (Mandy) Franz of Roseville, Minnesota; sister, Kay (Joshua) Perry of Ossian, Indiana; a nephew, Joseph Franz; two nieces, Jessica and Kasey Franz; and her beloved Feline Bestie, Wiggles. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Arthur and Lois (Lehrman) Franz; and her maternal grandparents, Edward and Mary (Braun) Heimann.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, December 20, 2024, at Zion Lutheran Church in Decatur, Indiana, with Pastor Zachary Oedewaldt officiating. Burial will follow at Decatur Cemetery. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Friends and family will be received from 2-4 p.m. and 5-7 p.m. on Thursday, December 19, 2024, at Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home in Decatur and one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Preferred memorials are to Fair Haven Foundation in Indianapolis, Adams County Cancer Coalition, or Cancer Services of Northeast Indiana.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
