{"id":21713,"date":"2024-11-22T11:48:04","date_gmt":"2024-11-22T16:48:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wzbd.com\/?p=21713"},"modified":"2024-11-22T11:48:05","modified_gmt":"2024-11-22T16:48:05","slug":"loshe-promoted-within-the-decatur-pd","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wzbd.com\/index.php\/2024\/11\/22\/loshe-promoted-within-the-decatur-pd\/","title":{"rendered":"Loshe promoted within the Decatur PD"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>By BOB SHRALUKA<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>WZBD.com<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Derek Loshe has been promoted within the Decatur Police Department and the department is narrowing the field for the hiring of a new officer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Loshe, a 12-year veteran of the PD, has been a sergeant for the past five years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image alignleft size-full\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"203\" height=\"251\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/wzbd.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/11\/unnamed-32.jpg?resize=203%2C251&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-21714\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>He will assume his new post on Monday, Dec. 16, Chief Kevin Gerber told the Decatur Board of Works and Safety at its recent meeting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As a lieutenant, Gerber said, Loshe will serve as supervisor of the staff&#8217;s sergeants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cHe has taken on a lot of the duties that Mark (Cook, who recently retired) was doing, Gerber noted, in addition to other duties Loshe has within the department.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Meanwhile, Gerber said the process for hiring a new officer has been winnowed to five candidates.
