After being defeated by Adams Central 43-0 in Week 2, the Eastside Blazers had to try everything they could to have a chance to win a sectional title Friday against the Jets. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

They did try everything, including an onside kick to open the game, but none of it mattered as the Jets rolled late in the game to a 41-19 victory. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Blazers recovered their onside kick and went down the field to take the lead, then answered an Adams Central touchdown to re-gain the lead at 13-7 at the end of the first quarter, but the Jets answered with five straight touchdowns to take control of the game. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

That first AC touchdown came on a 58-yard catch by Braylend Reber from Jamison Roach. It was one of just two completions Roach needed to keep the Jet offense going on the night. Reber later added the icing to the sectional cake with a pick-six score from midfield. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Jets only out-gained Eastside by 49 yards on offense, but it was one of the cleanest games Adams Central played all year. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Blazers were able to convert on 5 of 6 fourth-down tries, but all the other numbers went AC’s way:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-No turnovers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-No penalties. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

-No punts. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

-No sacks allowed. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Aaron Hirschy needed just nine touches to reach 112 yards on the ground. Roach had 74 yards on his own. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Max Kaehr had an outstanding game defensively with five solo tackles and 12 assists. He also had a sack, forced a fumble and blocked an extra point (see gallery below). <\/p>\n\n\n\n
