{"id":21239,"date":"2024-11-01T09:53:59","date_gmt":"2024-11-01T13:53:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wzbd.com\/?p=21239"},"modified":"2024-11-01T09:54:01","modified_gmt":"2024-11-01T13:54:01","slug":"rhymer-to-join-decatur-commission","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wzbd.com\/index.php\/2024\/11\/01\/rhymer-to-join-decatur-commission\/","title":{"rendered":"Rhymer to join Decatur commission"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>By BOB SHRALUKA<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>WZBD.com<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Aaron Rhymer of Decatur will become the newest member of the city&#8217;s redevelopment commission when 2025 kicks off January 1.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Rhymer was chosen at a recent meeting of city council and will replace Jason Bird, who asked to step down.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"251\" height=\"384\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/wzbd.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/11\/unnamed-28.jpg?resize=251%2C384&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-21240\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/wzbd.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/11\/unnamed-28.jpg?w=251&amp;ssl=1 251w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/wzbd.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/11\/unnamed-28.jpg?resize=196%2C300&amp;ssl=1 196w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 251px) 100vw, 251px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\"><em>Rhymer<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The 1994 Bellmont High School grad and his brother, Chris Rhymer, are owners\/operators of Van Wert, Ohio-based Dedicated Fleet Logistics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI was approached to join the redevelopment commission because I have business management experience and knowledge in areas of budgeting,\u201d Rhymer told WZBD.com \u201cI see a great deal of potential in our community and feel I have ideas that will help improve our small town.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI want to ensure this community continues to grow stronger and grow in opportunities for our younger population.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Rhymer will join Craig Russert \u2013 just appointed to a new term by council \u2013 Ron Storey, Jeremy Friedt and Tim Ehlerding on the commission.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Decatur native has a bachelor&#8217;s degree in Information Technology from Western Governs University and an associate degree in IT Project Management from University of Phoenix.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The brothers bought the company in Van Wert in March of 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI started there full-time overseeing operations in February of 2023,\u201d Aaron said.
