Logan Uhlman pitched the Adams Central Jets to victory across state lines Wednesday, throwing a complete game to beat Crestview, 4-2. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Uhlman allowed just four hits in his 100-pitch effort and only got into trouble in the fourth inning, when Crestview scored a pair of runs. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe plan was to throw Logan for 30 pitches,\u201d said coach Josh Foster, \u201cbut he cruised through three so we rode him.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Logan Uhlman was too good to take off the mound Wednesday night. <\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Foster noted that he intended to use Ryan Black, whose father attended Crestview, but Uhlman pitched so well, they just did not need a reliever. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Jets gave Uhlman the lead with three runs in the third. Jack Hamilton led off that inning with a hit and Cade Van De Weg was hit by a pitch to put two runners on for Ryan Tester. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hamilton stole third on a double steal and then scored on a sacrifice fly by Tester. Trevor Currie and Dakota Perry followed with back-to-back hits off Crestview starter Preston Kreischer. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

After allowing the two runs with two outs in the fourth, Uhlman did not allow a hit. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Uhlman scored an insurance run in the top of the seventh, singling to lead off the inning and then taking third when Tester reached on an error. Currie drove him in with a groundout to the right side. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Uhlman, Currie and Perry each had two hits. The Jets did not have an extra-base hit but did pick up ten singles against Kreischer.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Plagued by poor defense in recent weeks, Foster was happy with the way the team played defensively. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI would have to look back but I think that\u2019s zero errors for the first time this year,\u201d said Foster. The coach pointed out that Ethan Funk made all four plays cleanly at shortstop. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe guys are finally realizing that what we have been saying is true,\u201d said Foster. \u201cIf we play good defense and keep hitting the ball, our pitchers will give us a chance to win any and every game.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
