It only took 90 seconds for it all to go wrong for visiting Union City Friday night. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ready to punt it away to South Adams on their first possession, the Indians spotted the home team two points with a safety after the snap was botched and the ball went out the back of the end zone. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It was all Starfires after that. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

South Adams scored on their next seven possessions, all touchdowns, and went into halftime with an insurmountable 51-0 lead. The rest of the game was played quickly on a running clock as the minds of the Starfire coaching staff switched to the tough road test at #11 Tri next week. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The statistics for a 51-0 win don’t seem to match up with what transpired in the 1A sectional opener, but that’s because the Stars scored so quickly and efficiently. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

South Adams had just 11 first downs and only had 213 yards of offense, but they dominated the game in every way. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Will Patterson was the team’s leading rusher on just three touches with 51 yards and a score. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tytus Lehman only needed to complete two passes to lead the team to victory. He had a 35-yard TD pass to Caiden Neuenschwander midway through the first quarter and finished with 44 yards. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Derek McKean also threw a touchdown pass on his only attempt, connecting with Wes Summersett for a 32-yard score. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jackson Garcia made all seven of his extra point attempts. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kaleb Minger had a pick-six to put the team up 16-0 in the early going. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Starfires held Union City to just 31 yards rushing. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
