One week before putting their season on the line, the Bellmont Braves took their best shot at the Delta cross country course in a 17-team invitational Saturday. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The boys team came away with a sixth-place finish. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Luke Moster of Guerin Catholic and New Haven’s Bryan Garcia battled for the individual win, racing better than a 16-minute pace with Moster winning by 4.8 seconds (15:50.10)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fresh off a season best at the NE8 meet, Harry Gunsett went even faster and took 28th place for the Braves. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Coach Randy Hisner noted that sophomore Hudson Krull was hampered by an ankle injury and not at his best Saturday. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bellmont Boys’ Times and Places: 21st-Hayden Whittenbarger 17:22.40; 28th-Harry Gunsett 17:40.10; 35th-Maddux Miller 17:59.90; 48th-Hudson Krull 18:28.70; 54th-Ethan Curtis 18:42.40; 58th-Landon Rich 18:50.70; 76th-Logan Whitacre 19:18.50; 87th-Cayden Rauch 19:35.00<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For the girls, it was Josie Kinnaman of Greenfield-Central who won by 25 seconds over Guerin freshman Taylor Tragesser. Ava Beaty of Leo was eighth. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sydney Angel was the top runner for the Bellmont Braves, taking 30th in 22:07. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
