{"id":19809,"date":"2024-09-17T15:15:28","date_gmt":"2024-09-17T19:15:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wzbd.com\/?p=19809"},"modified":"2024-09-17T15:15:39","modified_gmt":"2024-09-17T19:15:39","slug":"five-points-now-closed-to-traffic","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wzbd.com\/index.php\/2024\/09\/17\/five-points-now-closed-to-traffic\/","title":{"rendered":"Five Points now closed to traffic"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>By BOB SHRALUKA<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>WZBD.com<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Five Points intersection in Decatur was closed to traffic this morning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The area is expected to be shut down for approximately three weeks for utility replacement and relocation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Among the upcoming work will be preparations for demolishing the convenience store\/gas station on the site.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The current work is leading up to next year&#8217;s conversion of the intersection into a roundabout.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The marked detour is follows:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mercer Ave. to Rugg St., then to First St.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mercer Ave. to Grant St. to Line St. to Adams St. to Seventh St. to Monroe Street.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>City officials have been told that the utility relocation will be completed prior to the city&#8217;s annual Callithumpian Parade the last Monday in October.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By BOB SHRALUKA WZBD.com The Five Points intersection in Decatur was closed to traffic this morning.
