{"id":19724,"date":"2024-09-16T09:36:08","date_gmt":"2024-09-16T13:36:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wzbd.com\/?p=19724"},"modified":"2024-09-16T09:36:21","modified_gmt":"2024-09-16T13:36:21","slug":"richard-l-marbaugh","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wzbd.com\/index.php\/2024\/09\/16\/richard-l-marbaugh\/","title":{"rendered":"Richard L Marbaugh"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image alignleft size-large is-resized\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/cdn.batesvilletechnology.com\/fh_live\/15900\/15910\/images\/obituaries\/9068439.jpg?w=640&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" style=\"width:217px;height:auto\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Richard L. \u201cDick\u201d Marbaugh, 88, of Decatur, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, September 12, 2024 at Adams Memorial Hospital in Decatur.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He was born on August 23, 1936 in Celina, OH to the late Clifford and Midge (Lehman) Marbaugh.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dick was united in marriage to Carolyn S. Sheets on February 11, 1969, in Decatur, Indiana, and she preceded him in death on August 14, 2021.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He graduated from Willshire High School in 1955. &nbsp;Dick was a former member of the Moose Lodge #1311 in Decatur.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He was employed at Rathon\/Magnavox in Maintenance, for 40 plus years until his retirement in 2006.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dick loved his children and grandchildren. &nbsp;He enjoyed talking about his high school basketball team, bragging about his state runner-up championship in 1955. He and Carolyn loved to go to square dancing together. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Survivors include his daughter, Kimberly (Billy) McCance of Anderson, Indiana; step-daughter, Tammy (Victor) Perez of Decatur, Indiana; step-daughter, Deborah (Kevin) Seitz of Decatur, Indiana; son, Douglas Marbaugh of Decatur, Indiana; son, James (Jennifer) Marbaugh of Decatur, Indiana; step-son, Timothy (Peggy) Fry of Decatur, Indiana; sister, &nbsp; &nbsp; Mary Bennett of Preble, Indiana; and sister, Donna Peterson of Planville, Indiana; sixteen grandchildren; twenty nine great-grandchildren and one on the way; and two great-great grandchildren.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dick was preceded in death by four brothers, Bill, Tom, Larry &amp; Allen Marbaugh.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In following with Dick\u2019s wishes, there will be no services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Burial will follow at a later date at Decatur Cemetery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Preferred memorials can be given to Gigi\u2019s Playhouse.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Arrangements by Zwick and Jahn Funeral Homes of Decatur, Indiana<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Richard L. \u201cDick\u201d Marbaugh, 88, of Decatur, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, September 12, 2024 at Adams Memorial<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":3,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_jetpack_memberships_contains_paid_content":false,"footnotes":""},"categories":[8],"tags":[23],"class_list":["post-19724","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-obituaries","tag-obit"],"jetpack_featured_media_url":"","jetpack_sharing_enabled":true,"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/wzbd.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/19724","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/wzbd.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/wzbd.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/wzbd.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/3"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/wzbd.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=19724"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/wzbd.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/19724\/revisions"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/wzbd.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=19724"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/wzbd.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=19724"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/wzbd.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=19724"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
