{"id":19298,"date":"2024-09-05T05:13:55","date_gmt":"2024-09-05T09:13:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wzbd.com\/?p=19298"},"modified":"2024-09-05T05:13:56","modified_gmt":"2024-09-05T09:13:56","slug":"decatur-street-work-ready-to-roll","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wzbd.com\/index.php\/2024\/09\/05\/decatur-street-work-ready-to-roll\/","title":{"rendered":"Decatur street work ready to roll"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>By BOB SHRALUKA<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>WZBD.com<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If all goes as scheduled, milling of several Decatur streets will begin this week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Operations Manager Jeremy Gilbert told city council at its latest meeting that Brooks Construction will begin the milling (removing the top layer of asphalt) \u201cand it will be a long, drawn-out process.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If the Brooks schedule holds, paving will begin on Sept. 17.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A state Community Crossings grant is funding the major portion of the project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The grant totals $810,508.10.
